No fewer than seven students of the Abia State University Uturu, ABSU, bagged First Class at the 2023 Nigeria Law School Bar examination.
One of the First Class students, Miss Blessing Agbazuere, the daughter of former Commissioner for Information, and Constitutional Lawyer, Professor Anthony Agbazuere, was also the best-graduating student at the last convocation ceremony of the university.
Others are Ukpabi Success, and Eme Ekeoma Marvellous, Achilihu Victoria, Christian Stella Nwaoma, Excel Great Chuks-Agwuh, and Cosmas Deborah.
ABSU Management in a statement by the Public Relations Officer, PRO, Mr Chijioke Nwogu, expressed delight over the superlative performance of the students.
The statement conveyed the gratitude of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Onyemachi Ogbulu, to the students, saying they have done both the institution and the state proud.
The statement also commended Nursing and Public Health students of the university for performing excellently in their own professional examination.
The statement read in part: “This result is coming at the heels of the exploits of the graduating Nurses of the University who scored 95.14% in the Nursing and Midwifery Council examination and 97.14% in the Public Health Nursing Council examination.
“Similarly, students of Optometry of the University scored 99% at the just released result of the Nigerian Optometric and Dispensing Opticians Registration Board of Nigeria examination.
The statement further commended Governor Alex Otti for providing the institution with the enabling support and conducive atmosphere to operate.
