Commissioner of Police Imo State Command, Aboki Danjuma, has convened a security meeting with the stakeholders of Avu, Okolochi, Eziobodo, and Ihiagwa communities in Owerri West Local Government Area of the state.
The Commissioner said the meeting was in line with his community policing-oriented approach to combating crime.
He also said that it was also to discuss and collaboratively roll out crime prevention strategies to drastically reduce the worrisome rise in the wave of violent crimes within these communities and improve the overall security of the state.
The Commissioner emphasised the importance of strengthening the local security outfit to assist the Police and other security agencies in beefing up security in their respective communities.
He noted that security is everybody’s business and advised that all hands must be on deck in the fight against crime and criminality in the state.
The stakeholders identified some areas as black spots in their community, and the CP immediately tasked the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, to carry out intense operation with the local vigilantes and flush out criminally- minded elements engaging in violent activities in the state.
He asserted that round-the-clock visibility policing and confidence-building patrol must be sustained in the State.
