Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has directed the Imo Marketing Board (IMB) to commence procurement, sale and distribution of food stuff at subsidised prices to Imo citizens.
The Governor, while giving the order, directed ministries, agencies and departments to proceed to the office of the Head of Service at the state Secretariat, to take receipt of their items.
According to the Governor, the incentives were in line with the welfare packages to Imo people to ameliorate the hardship caused by fuel subsidy removal and also to improve food affordability in the state.
He listed some of the items to be collected to include bags of rice, vegetable oil etc.
