The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Hon. Sly Ezeokenwa, has declared the readiness of his party to expand its dominance by winning more governorship seats in the South-East geopolitical zone of the country.
According to Ezeokenwa, the target is to ensure that Anambra State remains an APGA state, and by extension South-East zone. He also said the agenda is to make APGA a household name in the state and beyond after the 2025 governorship election in Anambra State.
The APGA national chairman stated this when he inaugurated 448 ‘Solution Kindred Initiative, SKI, member team at Idemili North council area, last weekend. According to him, the aim was to get more votes through use of kindreds in the forthcoming election.
Inaugurating the maiden SKI team at Ogidi, Ezeokenwa said: “APGA is a household name and we hope to get two more states in the South-East zone, come the next political dispensation. With the inauguration of this SKI team, they will penetrate the community because every community has various umunnas,” he stated.
The National chairman commended Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, the party’s state chairman, and the council chairman, Chuks Brown Igboanua, for their relentless efforts towards moving the party forward.
“We want to have APGA as a cooperative society, you must belong to APGA to be keyed into the cooperative society we are talking about, which is aimed at capturing Anambra State for Soludo next year, and having two more states from South-East,” he stated.
In his speech, Obi-Okoye, stressed the role of SKI as a crucial unit of governance. “One hardly eats what belongs to umunna because they are your people and know everything about you.
“Umunna has a major role to play and by this voting coordination, APGA will penetrate into the umunna so that we get more votes and that is the essence of the inauguration of SKI,” he further explained.
Earlier in his speech, the council chairman, Hon. Chuks Brown Igboanua, disclosed that the maiden inauguration has been done in Ogidi for Central Senatorial zone adding that two other Senatorial zones, North and South would have theirs on a date to be announced later.
