The Traditional Ruler of Amala Community in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State, Igwe Patrick Eze, aka Waziri, on Saturday escaped death by the whiskers as gunmen attacked his convoy.
Although the police is yet to issue any statement on the incident, an eye witness said the incident happened at Orba, a community close to Obollo Afor, all in Udenu Local Government Area.
“Unknown gunmen attacked Igwe Waziri yesterday at Orba, killed his police orderly and a Road Safety officer, fortunately Igwe escaped,” our source said.
Ikengaonline also learnt that the gunmen had earlier attacked the Umabor Police Division in Ehalumona killing two policemen.
Orba community is the hometown of immediate past governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
