The Nsukka Journalist Forum (NJF) and Ikechukwu Ezeugwu Foundation (IEF) have formed alliance to champion the development and progress of Nsukka cultural zone in Enugu State.
This partnership aims to empower the people of Nsukka by supporting education, promoting good governance, and fostering sustainable Infrastructure in the zone.
The alliance was formed in Enugu during a courtesy visit to the founder, Ikechukwu Ezeugwu Foundation and former Speaker Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Ikechukwu Ezeugwu, by the leadership of NJF.
In a remark, the chairman of Nsukka Journalist Forum, Mr Benson Whyte Ezugwu, said that NJF would work hand-in-hand with the foundation to identify key areas where they can make significant impact together.
“We are here to thank you for the relevance of your foundation in the education sector especially as it has awarded scholarships to indigents and intelligent students, thereby enhancing educational opportunities and supporting development initiatives that will improve the lives of the citizens of the area.
“As media practitioners, this collaboration will focus on an unbreakable alliance that would serve as a beacon of hope, signaling a new era of growth and progress for the Nsukka cultural zone,” he said.
Ezugwu said that by combining their expertise, resources, and passion for creating positive change, the collaboration will bring positive social impact to Nsukka people.
Speaking, a member of Nsukka Journalists Forum (NJF) and elder statesman, Jude Ossai, highlighted the importance of the symbiotic relationship between the foundation and the NJF in promoting development and progress within the Nsukka zone.
He emphasised the need for collaboration between organisations that share a common vision and mission, stating that working together can lead to significant improvements and a better future for the zone.
Responding, leader of the foundation, Ikechukwu Ezeugwu, expressed his enthusiasm and willingness to partner with the forum.
He acknowledged the importance of collaboration between organisations that share a common goal of promoting the development and well-being of the people.
He said that the foundation which was established in 2013, had so far, awarded scholarship to over 100 people with about 30 graduates including medical doctors.
“As part of the collaboration, Ikechukwu Ezeugwu Foundation will continue its mission to create a sustainable environment for the growth and development of the area,” Ezeugwu said.
He emphasised the need for journalists to help promote good governance and hold leaders accountable for their actions.
Ezeugwu also shared his belief that the partnership with NJF would further strengthen the foundation’s efforts and create a positive impact on the lives of people in the Nsukka zone.
Dr Ezugwu expressed his gratitude towards the NJF for considering the foundation a partner and looked forward to a fruitful and productive collaboration.
