It would be recalled that the people of Effium and Ezza-Effium in the area have been at war since January 21, 2021, with numerous lives lost and properties worth billions of naira destroyed.
Consequently, the natives of Effium autonomous community in Ohaukwu Local Government Area have called on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahamed Tinubu, and the Executive Governor, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, to note the continuous killings, burning of houses and kidnapping of innocent people.

“This latest attack is the third in a series of coordinated attacks on Effium natives by Ezza warriors within a space of one week. However, to our chagrin government has not issued any official statement condemning these incessant attacks on Effium people.
“Once again, we call on the government of Ebonyi State, the security agencies and indeed the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to protect the peace loving Effium natives.
“We desire/deserve peace in our ancestral home. Ebonyi State Government should note that the agenda of the Ezza people is to derail the peace process and continue in their evil ethnic cleansing agenda.

He noted that there were military and mobile police units stationed in the community to protect the people.
