Activities were grounded in Ebonyi on Thursday as residents complied with the sit-at-home order declared by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Banks, schools, offices, businesses including eateries, shopping malls and markets were all under lock when our Reporter monitored compliance.
There were few cars on the road belonging to private individuals as parks were also shut down.
However, a few commercial motorcyclists and tricyclists were operating around the city centre.
They may have been emboldened to come out due to the heavy presence of Machine gun welding security men moving around in a convoy.
Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state has postponed its 5-man delegates Congress earlier scheduled to hold today across the state.
Though the party in a statement claimed the reason for the postponement is to allow for screening of aspirants but it is believed that the shift may be because of the sit-at-home.
“The 5-Man Delegates Congress and Councillorship Primary Elections of the party will now hold on Friday, May 31, 2024, in the 13 LGAs across the state,” the statement signed by Stanley Emegha, the party Chairman added.
