Suspected Fulani herdsmen have allegedly killed two school boys at Ukpata and Opanda Communities in Uzo Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State.
An eye witness report said that a yet-to-be-identified student of Nsukka High School was shot at Ukwuakpu, between Ukpata and Uvuru communities.
According to the reports, the student was pleading with the herdsmen not to rape his sister when he was shot.
The sister, who was still raped by the Fulani marauders was said to have been receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in Nsukka.
Meanwhile, another victim allegedly fell to the bullets of the nomads at Opanda, all in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State.
According to an eyewitness, he was coming from Adani to Opanda when he ran into the rampaging herdsmen and was killed in cold blood.
It would be recalled that Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area had come under severe attacks from herdsmen in recent past, resulting in the killing of mourners at Ugwuijoro Nimbo.
The herders had also killed others in different parts of the council area recently.
Recently the senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria had directed security agencies to investigate reports of incessant killings in Uzo Uwani Local Government Area.
The intervention of the senate followed a complaint by the Senator representing Enugu North Senatorial district, Senator Okechukwu Ezea.
