The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPoB, has advised Ndigbo to shun the on-going nationwide protest against hunger and bad governance, saying they should allow Nigeria to carry her cross.
IPOB, in a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, said those who shouted ‘Emilokan’ (it’s my turn) during the 2023 presidential election, should be allowed to enjoy the fruit of their choice.
The Biafra group further argued that Ndigbo and their business interests would be the target of any nationwide protest, hence the need to steer clear from the protest.
IPOB said nothing good would come out of the protest, and urged Ndigbo to be cautious to avoid falling into the trap.
It also called on Ndigbo within and outside the South-East to be very vigilant and circumspect.
In the statement entitled: “Nigerian government targets Ndigbo during the peaceful #EndBadGovernance# protest in Nigeria,” IPOB urged Ndigbo to be protective of their lives and properties during the protests.
It read in part: “Following the wind of hardship, bad governance and hunger protest blowing across Nigeria, the global family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPoB, led by our great leader, Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu Kanu wish to advise Ndigbo to be on guard and protective of their lives and properties during the hunger protests.
“Our ancestors said that whoever is surrounded by the enemies watches over his life always.”
