The Chairman of South-East Traditional Rulers’ Council, HRM Samuel Ikechukwu Asadu (OGADAGIDI), has commended the National Assembly and the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, for the creation of South-East Development Commission (SEDC).
Asadu, who is also the Igwe of Edem Ani, in Ogwugwu Ancient Kingdom in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State, made the commendation in a statement released by his media group in Nsukka.
In the statement, HRM Asadu, who is also the chairman of Enugu State Traditional Rulers’ Council, said the creation of SEDC was a milestone, which represents a significant leap towards the development and prosperity of “our beloved region.”
He said: “Firstly, we extend our deepest appreciation to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. Your decisive and visionary leadership in signing this crucial bill into law demonstrates your commitment to fostering regional growth and integration.
“Your support for the South-East Development Commission Bill is a testament to your dedication to creating a more inclusive and prosperous Nigeria.
“We also extend our heartfelt thanks to His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mba, the Executive Governor of Enugu State.
“Your unwavering support and advocacy for this bill have been instrumental in its successful passage. Your continued efforts in advancing the development of Enugu State and, by extension, the entire South-East region, have not gone unnoticed.
“Our special appreciation goes to Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
“Your leadership in summoning support for the bill on the floor of the House was pivotal.
“Your commitment to this cause reflects your dedication to the welfare of the people of the Southeast and your vision for a brighter future for our region.

The Igwe acknowledged that the passage of the bill was only the beginning of greater things to come in the development of the zone.
