Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo has hailed Dr. Chris Ngige and Chief Willie Obiano, for their contributions to the progress and development of the state.
Senator Ngige and Willie Obiano are both former governors of the state. The former ruled from 2003 to 2007, while the latter, from 2014 to 2021.
In a statement celebrating the duo on their birthdays on Thursday, Soludo recognised the indelible impact that both leaders have made in transforming Anambra and improving the lives of its residents.
Soludo recalled Ngige’s tenure as an era characterised by significant industrialisation and infrastructure development particularly in road construction and urban renewal during his tenure as Governor of the state.
He further noted that Senator Ngige had, through his commitment and dedication to public service, continued to be exemplary in his subsequent roles as a distinguished Senator and former Minister of Labour and Employment in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Soludo also acknowledged the successes of Governor Obiano in continuing the progress and implementing policies that have further propelled the state’s growth and development.
He emphasised the need to build on the achievements of past leaders in order to ensure a prosperous future for Anambra.
He commended Chief Obiano’s visionary initiatives and policies during his tenure, which significantly contributed to the growth and development of Anambra State.

“Senator Ngige had, through his commitment and dedication to public service, continued to be exemplary in his subsequent roles as a distinguished Senator and former Minister of Labour and Employment in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“As Dr Chris Ngige celebrates another year, Governor Soludo joins his family, friends, and well-wishers in thanking God for his life and praying for his continued good health and wisdom in the service of the nation and Anambra state.
“Governor Soludo is happy to celebrate Chief Obiano’s life and his enduring impact on Anambra State, wishing him continued sound health, happiness, and fulfillment on this auspicious occasion of his 69th birthday anniversary.”
