Enugu gov’t begins construction of centre for experiential learning

The Enugu State Government has flagged-off the construction of the Centre for Experiential Learning and Innovation where smart teachers for the smart green schools, smart senior secondary schools, and smart vocational schools would be trained.
Performing the function on Friday at the Enugu State College of Education Technical, ESCET, the Governor said the centre would also train Directors of experiential learning who would be posted to various smart green schools in the state.
The Governor, represented by the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ndubueze Mbah, said the centre was also designed to train smart teachers that would be posted to other states and countries.
He said that the project was a sustainability plan for the Enugu smart green schools initiated by the state government, and expressed gratitude to the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFUND, for rendering the financial support for the project.
He said that the centre, which has 25 model classrooms, e-library, and ICT hub, would be equipped with “Tomorrow Is Here Digital Innovation Studio, ” where the teaching of Mechatronics, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and other internet related courses would be taking place.
Speaking, the ESCET Provost, Dr Stella Ekwueme, described the governor as an education-friendly governor.
She expressed joy for the choice of the school to site the world class project and commended him for his commitment to changing the narrative in the education sector.
The project is expected to be completed within six months.
