Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has approved the removal of Mr. Chido Obidiegwu as the Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS).
Obidiegwu, who is in his third year in office as the MD of ABS, was appointed by the governor at the inception of his tenure in 2022.
However, a statement signed by the Press Secretary to the Governor, Christian Aburime, which was made available to Ikengaonline Thursday announced that Obidiegwu has been replaced with Christopher Molokwu.
The statement said the new appointment takes immediate effect, as Molokwu takes over as the new Managing Director of ABS.
Molokwu, who hails from Delta State, is a seasoned media practitioner and an accomplished broadcaster with a demonstrated history of excellence in the media production industry.
His career spans over 16 years, during which he has garnered vast expertise in strategic planning, customer service, event management, and social media.
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Molokwu, a product of the University of Benin, served as the Programmes Manager at Wazobia FM Onitsha and as Head of Sports at Steam Broadcasting Limited (96.9 Cool FM).
In the other development, Soludo approved the appointment of Mr. Chuka Nnabuife as the Managing Director of the Civic and Social Reformation Office.
The statement said Nnabuife’s appointment was part of Governor Soludo’s commitment to fostering civic responsibility, social reform, and cultural advancement in the state.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Nnabuife served as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Anambra Newspapers and Printing Corporation from July 2018 to September 2023, and the Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of National Light Newspaper from July 2014 to June 2018, among other notable editorial positions.
Nnabuife has over 35 years experience in journalism, media administration, and the arts. He is a Fellow of both the Nigerian Guild of Editors (FNGE) and the Society of Nigerian Artists (FSNA).
A prolific writer and author of nine books, including co-authoring two, Mr. Nnabuife holds a Master of Science in Media and Communication from Pan Atlantic University, Lagos, specialising in Media Enterprise.
