The National President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Joe Ajaero, was Monday morning, arrested by operatives of the Department of the State Services, DSS.
Ikengaonline learned that Comrade Ajaero was picked up by the Secret Police at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on his way to the United Kingdom for an official assignment.
He was billed to attend a Trade Union Congress, TUC, conference beginning today (September 9), in London.
Meanwhile, no reasons have been given for his arrest.
Recall that the police had penultimate week, equally invited him for interrogation over alleged terrorism concerning the #EndBadGovernance protests.
He was accompanied then to the Force Headquarters by other labour leaders who had threatened immediate shut down of the nation’s economy should Ajaero be arrested.
The NLC boss was released after about one hour he reported to the Force Headquarters.
