Ahead of the September 28 Local Government election in Anambra State, Governor Chukwuma Soludo has commended the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) for their efforts so far in preparing for the local government election in the state.
Governor Soludo gave the commendation while interacting with the candidates of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the election in Awka, the state capital.
The interactive meeting was attended by Local Government and party chairmen, members of the state working committee and members of the State Executive Council.
The governor, who also commended his party hierarchy for their efforts, said “conducting the election is crucial for the development and progress of the state.”
He emphasised that having a functional local government system is essential for effective governance and service delivery to the people.
Soludo assured that his administration would work closely with ANSIEC to ensure a smooth and transparent electoral process.
He encouraged all the aspirants to show what they will do for people of Anambra for the overall development of the state.
The governor insisted that factions do not exist in APGA as Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa remains the National Chairman of the party and expressed the hope that the lawful thing will be done very soon.
He urged all stakeholders to support ANSIEC in their efforts to conduct a free and fair election, noting that it is vital for the democratic process and the future of the state.
