President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Abuja from the United Kingdom where he had been for a two-week vacation.
Ikengaonline learned that Tinubu arrived at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja at 7:20 pm Saturday.
The President was received by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; the Minister of Finance and the Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun.
Other top Government functionaries at the airport to receive the President were the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Bagudu; the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje, among others.
Recall that Tinubu departed Abuja for the UK on a two-week leave on Wednesday, October 2.
The information about his departure was contained in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
It read: “President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja today for the United Kingdom to begin a two-week vacation, part of his yearly leave.
“He will use the two weeks as a working vacation and a retreat to reflect on his administration’s economic reforms.
“He will return to the country after the leave expires,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, his absence as well as that of the Vice President Kashim Shettima who recently traveled to Sweden, had been a subject of controversy in the media space for some days now.
Presidential candidate of the Labour Party in 2023, Peter Obi, described it as a disregard by the presidency for Nigerians.
