The immediate past president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo World Wide, Late Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has been described as a bridge builder who has contributed to the unity of Igbos.
The leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo World Wide, the Nigeria Society of Engineers and the management and staff of Hadel and Enic group of companies under the leadership of Ambrose Nwagbaso, made the remarks when they received the body of late Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu at Oriental Plaza Owerri.
Chief Ambrose Nwagbaso described the late icon as a father to all, who made life more meaningful to his staff and people around him stressing that the vacuum his demise created can never be filled.
The Chairman, Ohanaeze Ndigbo World Wide Imo State Chapter, Chief Chidi Ihemetu, receiving the corpse, explained that the past president stood strongly with the Igbo people and before his death was planning to have Igbo Day 2024 where all the Igbos will come together and chat a new course.
The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Lady Chinyere Ekomaru, while sympathising with the family for the great loss, described late Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu as a father to all.
Meanwhile the heads of security agencies in the state, have assured of the safety of residents and guests as all entry and exit points into the state have been reinforced, and that reconnaissance operations are being conducted at event centers with joint security personnel strategically deployed to ensure maximum security in the state during and after the burial of Late Chief Iwuanyanwu.
They warned that no unprofiled masquerades will be allowed near the venue, except masquerade groups register with the DSS.
The security chiefs assured embers of the public intending to attend the event of their safety, as robust security measures are in place to ensure a peaceful burial celebration.
