The National Defence College says it is studying the dynamic nature of Imo state through a research team from the institution.
The Director Coordination of the college, Brigadier General Kabiru Sidi, made this known at the government house, Owerri, when the team selected from the college visited the Imo State Governor for a presentation.
Brigadier General Sidi while noting that the college is the apex training institution for Nigeria’s armed forces in teaching strategy and policy said that Imo State was one of the states selected for the study.
According to him, this year’s theme is “strengthening institutions for national security and development in Nigeria,” and each state has a different topic to study and go back to the college for presentation.
The participants in Imo State are attending course 33 of the college.
The Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, represented by the commissioner for Tourism, hospitality and culture, Mr Jerry Egemba, underscored the importance of collaboration between government and security institutions.
Governor Uzodimma commended the Nigerian army for its contribution to national security and peace and assured them of a peaceful stay throughout their study in Imo State.
