Commissioner of Police in Imo State, CP Aboki Danjuma, has reaffirmed the Imo State Police Command’s commitment to continuous professional development.
He gave the assertion during a one-day training of officers from all Divisions and Area Commands across the state on the identification, handling, and disposal of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
The training led by the Officer in Charge of the Anti-Bomb Squad, Mr M.A. Ogini, is aimed at improving officers’ ability to detect and neutralise IED threats.
In his address, the Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, emphasised the growing use of IEDs in criminal activities by suspected IPOB/ESN members.
CP Danjuma stressed the need for the police to be well-prepared to effectively address these threats and ensure public safety.
He urged officers to fully engage in the training, which he noted would significantly strengthen their ability to respond to these security challenges.
The Police commissioner stated that the knowledge gained from the training would be shared across all units, enhancing the Force’s readiness to address emerging security threats and maintain public safety in Imo State.
