The Minister of Defence Alhaji Mohammed Badaru has assured the people of the South-East of continuous military support to curb insecurity and ensure hitch free yuletide.
Alhaji Badaru who disclosed this when he paid a courtesy visit to the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma at the government house Owerri, maintained that the military will not relent in their duties to protect lives and property.
He said the purpose of the visit which had the commander, 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze, and other top government officials, was to thank the governor for being supportive to the military and other security agencies.
The General Officer Commanding 82 Division Enugu, Major General Hassan Dada, while speaking at the meeting, said the Nigeria army is up to the task to make the society crime free and urged the youths to cooperate with the military.
In his response, Senator Hope Uzodimma acknowledged the presence of the defense minister and promised to do more by providing necessary logistics needed to curb kidnapping, insurgency and banditry.
