Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State, has expressed his readiness to establish the Enugu State Disability Commission before the end of the first quarter of 2025.
This commitment was made in response to a presentation by Comrade Onyebuchi Mba, the State Chairman of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities, Enugu State Chapter, during a town hall meeting with Ndi Enugu on Saturday.
The governor’s announcement has sparked widespread joy among the disability community in Enugu State.
The establishment of the Enugu State Disability Commission is expected to address the challenges faced by persons with disabilities, including accessibility, education, employment, and healthcare.
As part of the plan, the governor has also pledged to constitute the board of the commission immediately, demonstrating his commitment to ensuring that the commission becomes operational as soon as possible.
The disability community in Enugu State has welcomed the governor’s announcement, expressing their gratitude and optimism about the future.
