Primary and secondary schools from the six education zones in Anambra State have locked horns in this year’s edition of Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo’s Mystery Box and Quiz competitions.
The competiting schools that represent each of the six zones emerged from preliminary stages of the competitions, which were carried out across different zonal and local government levels.
While primary schools competed in the Mystery Box quiz, which tested their knowledge on nutritional and health benefits of common fruits and vegetables, their secondary school counterparts competed in expository quiz which tested their IQs in elementary health education.
The competitions are part of the activities of Anambra Governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo’s Healthy Living campaign, which are geared towards keeping school children informed in line with the pillars of the programme.
Speaking during the exercises, the governor’s wife who is also the organiser of the competition said that each of the competitions has been carefully designed to bring out the best in pupils and students, and applauded the coordinators for showing dedication to the tasks of raising the participants in the best module of the exercise.
Mrs Soludo also praised the competitors for showing intelligence and dedication throughout the exercise and urged them to take their performances as a push to come back better.
At the end of the Mystery Box Quiz for primary schools, Anambra South Senatorial District came first and went home with a prize money of two hundred and fifty thousand naira, Central second with one hundred and fifty thousand naira, while Anambra North took the third position and grabbed a prize of one hundred thousand naira.
In the secondary school quiz, Awka Zone came first, Onitsha came second, while Nnewi Zone came third.
