The Chairperson Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), 82 Division Chapter, Hajiya Nafeesat Bisola Dada, has inaugurated different projects executed by the Commander 14 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Olusola Diya, at Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Barrack, Ohafia, Abia State.
The projects include the renovated Garrison Regimental Sergeant Major’s (RSM) House furnished to give comfort and satisfaction; the Quick Response Force (QRF) accommodation upgraded and furnished with an ante room for recreation and entertainment as well as conveniences for the use of soldiers of the QRF.
Other projects inaugurated were tailoring, hair dressing, soap making and catering departments, which were all equipped to start teaching of the skills, and foundation laying of the new pure water factory.
The wife of the GOC 82 Division, said the projects were part efforts to boost the morale of the Nigerian Army and their families in the barracks.
The GOC’s wife commended the Brigade Commander for his tireless efforts in bringing these projects to fruition.
“These transformative projects will enhance our community’s well – being and economic growth,” she enthused.
According to her, the projects are demonstration of efforts towards creating a brighter future for the barracks.
Speaking earlier, the Commander 14 Brigade, Brigadier General Olusola Diya, said the Brigade embarked on the projects in an effort to support in providing befitting accommodation as well as making barrack life exciting and fulfilling for its inhabitants.
He commended NAOWA for its supportive roles to soldiers and officers.
He said: “NAOWA plays a vital role in providing support and comfort to our families while discharging our duties. The association’s tireless efforts to ensure that the home front is secured while carrying out our constitutional responsibilities cannot be over emphasised.”
“NAOWA has made significant impacts in the provision of quality education and vocational training to our families living within and outside the barracks,” Diya added.
The Brigade Commander further commended NAOWA for running a creche, Nursery and Primary School, which according to him, have helped in delivering quality education to the people in the barracks.
The NAOWA Chairperson had earlier paid courtesy visit to the Abia State First Lady, Mrs Priscilla Otti, at her Nvosi country home.
