Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has promised to bring insecurity in the state to an end through security policies which are already in place.
He disclosed this while responding to callers on a live phone-in radio programme as part of activities marking his one year in office in his second tenure.
During his opening speech, the governor said the live programme was to give Imo residents the opportunity to interact with the government, ask questions on issues not clear and collectively make decisions on how to move the state forward.
Answering questions on the education budget, the governor clarified that the 7 billion naira is the budget for the ministry of education and not the budget for the entire education system in the state.
Governor Uzodimma disclosed that the education ministry has over 18 billion naira budget, with the Basic Education Board having 24 billion naira while the three universities in the state have a total of over 60 billion naira.
On minimum wage payment, the governor stated that the minimum wage will reflect on the January salary of state civil servants.
Speaking on youth empowerment, Governor Uzodimma maintained that his administration has supported over fifty thousand artisans with varying amounts of money for their businesses.
He said his administration under the skill up programme which aims at empowering three hundred thousand youths, has empowered over five thousand youths with digital skills and equipped them with startup kits.
The governor also vowed to repair urban roads after the rural roads have been maintained.
