Donald Trump, was Monday, January 20, sworn in as the 47th US President of the United States of America, USA.
The swearing in ceremony which took place at the US Capitol Rotunda in Washington, DC, was attended by a number of former US Presidents and their wives, as well as members of the Congress from both party divides.
In his inaugural speech, Trump declared emergency on Southern US borders with a vow to repatriate “millions of criminal aliens.”
He pledged to rescue America from what he described as years of betrayal and decline.
The Republican President vowed to prioritise a crackdown on illegal immigration.
Trump said he came to rescue America from ruins of the Democrats.
He said: “First, I will declare a national emergency at our southern border.
“All illegal entry will be immediately halted and we will begin the process of returning millions and millions of criminal aliens back to the places from which they came.”
The 78 year old second term President, took the oath of office to “preserve, protect and defend” the US Constitution at 12:01 p.m. ET (1701 GMT) inside the US Capitol, administered by Chief Justice John Roberts.
His Vice, Senator JD Vance, was first sworn in just before President Trump.
Checks by Ikengaonline revealed that Trump intends to sign a draft of executive actions in his first hours as President.
According to one of the incoming White House officials, 10 of the Executive Orders focus on border security and immigration, his top priority.
“In addition to declaring an emergency, President Trump will send armed troops there and resume a policy forcing asylum seekers to wait in Mexico for their US court dates,” the official said.
