Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has advised the newly sworn in commissioners to comport themselves to achieve development strides both in their official and personal conduct.
Governor Uzodimma gave the advice at the inauguration of the five new commissioners and Civil and Local Service Commission at the New Executive Chambers, government house, Owerri.
According to the Governor, the new appointment was an effort aimed at reinvigorating the activities of the government and enhance efficient service delivery to ensure the administration remained on the right track.
The governor warned the commissioners to adhere strictly to the laid down rules and desist from engaging in power tussle with permanent secretaries or representatives of government agencies.
He advised the Civil Service Commission to develop policies and guidelines and resist temptation that would compromise integrity of the service, by being fair and transparent.
Governor Uzodimma further urged the Local Service Commission to be guided by highest ethical standard in the promotion, manpower development policy, disciplinary control, transfer and termination of jobs.
In a response, one of the new commissioners, Mr Enyinnaya Onuegbu, who spoke on behalf of other colleagues acknowledged the efforts of the Governor and promised that the appointees would work for greater welfare of the state.
