The Police Command in Enugu State says it has arrested two suspects, Chime Valentine (25) and Alior Jideofor (30).
A statement by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the command, SP Daniel Ndukwe, said the suspects were arrested by operatives serving at the 9th Mile Division, Enugu.
He said that the operatives, who were acting on credible intelligence on the 6th of February 2025 arrested the suspects and recovered a Daylong motorcycle they had snatched from their victim, three locally fabricated guns with two live cartridges.
According to him, preliminary investigations revealed that on January 5, 2025, the suspects boarded a commercial motorcycle from Okwojo Ngwo to Amokwe Ngwo, both in Udi LGA.
“Along the way, they stopped, shot the rider in the left thigh, and fled with the motorcycle.
“However, the police operatives, leveraging intelligence, located and arrested the suspects, recovering the stolen motorcycle, firearms, and ammunition.
“The victim is currently recuperating from the gunshot injury,” he said.
He revealed that there are ongoing actions to arrest the suspects’ accomplices who are still at large, and upon conclusion of investigations, they will be arraigned in court.
