The All Progressives Congress (APC) Enugu State chapter, has dismissed reports in the social media that its state chairman, Mr Ugochukwu Agballah and his EXCO, have been expelled from the party.
The state Publicity Secretary of APC, Mr Titus Ezeagu, while reacting to the expulsion said the report was fake, urging party faithful and the general public to disregard the report.
He said: “Our attention has been drawn to a fake publication allegedly signed by Mr Alphonsus Onyeachonam and Charles Solo Ako, purportedly expelling the Ugochukwu Agballah-led state EXCO.
“Ordinarily, we would have ignored the error ridden and poorly worded fake publication which is as nonsensical as it is arcane,” the statement said.
The publicity secretary described the duo who claimed to be chairman and publicity secretary of APC in the state as misguided political merchants “who regrettably assumed that a constitutionally elected state executive committee can be removed by dissemination of false propaganda in the social media,” he said.
The publicity secretary reminded the APC faithful and the general public that the national and zonal leadership of the party have on separate occasions disowned the duo.
He affirmed that the Agballah-led executives remained the only known state chairman and SEC of APC in Enugu State, urging the general public to disregard the antics of faceless elements parading as party officials.
“The general public is, therefore, by this publication called upon to disregard the fake expulsion circulated by these jobless merchants.”
It would be recalled that there were reports in the social media alleging that Ugochukwu Agballah, the chairman of APC in Enugu State has been expelled from the party.
The report said that the chairman was expelled for misconduct and anti-party activities.
