Professor Joy Ezeilo SAN, the Executive Director and Founder, Women Aid Collective, WACOL, has called for a collective action against trafficking in persons.
Ezeilo said this through her X social media handle, adding that proper education on the dangers and signs of human trafficking was also necessary to curb the menace in Nigeria.
The women advocate said to stop the obnoxious trade, knowledge was very important.
She said: “To stop the trafficking, we must educate ourselves and others about the signs of trafficking and exploitation.
“Knowledge serves as our first line of defence.
“If you observe any signs of human trafficking, please report them immediately.
“Let us work together to prevent and combat this abhorrent phenomenon that shames humanity.”
