President Bola Tinubu, Wednesday, swore in the sole administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Étè Ibas (retd.).
The swearing-in, which took place at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, came less than 24 hours after the President declared a state of emergency in Rivers State and subsequently suspended the Governor, his Deputy and all members of the State House of Assembly.
This is as Gov. Siminalayi Fubara and his family had vacated the Rivers Government House.
Some top Government officials that witnessed the swearing-in included: the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; the Attorney General of the Federation, Mr Lateef Fagbemi, SAN; and the Principal Secretary to the President, Mr Hakeem Muri-Okunola.
