Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu has emerged the All Progressives Congress (APC) flag bearer for the November 8 Anambra State governorship election.
Ukachukwu was declared the winner of the primary election held at the Professor Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Center, Awka, Saturday evening.
He polled a total of 1,455 votes out of 1,636 votes cast, and 26 invalid votes.
The three other contestants, Mr Val Ozigbo, polled 67 votes to come second; JohnBosco Onunkwo polled 26 votes to come third; while Edozie Mmadu polled 8 votes to come fourth.
Announcing the results, the Governor of Cross Rivers State, Mr Bassey Otu, who is the chief Returning Officer of the election, commended the umpire, security agents, members of various committees, aspirants and the party members for playing their part towards the success of the event, calling on everyone to support the winner to enable the party come out victorious at the November election.
In his acceptance speech, Prince Ukachukwu appreciated President Tinubu and the working committee of the party for giving them a hitch-free primary and thanked members of the party for the confidence reposed in him to represent the party in the forth coming gubernatorial election.
He however promised to make the party proud if he is elected come November 8, 2025.
The state Chairman of the party, chief Basil Ejidike, also thanked the President and members of the national and state working committees for their efforts stressing the need for unity to achieve party goals.
