    ANAMMCO unveils Matador pickup truck

    EditorBy EditorApril 15, 2025No Comments4 Mins Read

    Ben Ezechime, Enugu

The Anambra Motor Manufacturing Company (ANAMMCO), an Enugu-based foremost Nigerian vehicle manufacturing company, has unveiled its latest product, the “Matador Pickup” truck with balance of high performance and safety.

The ANAMMCO General Manager (Sales), Mr Olalekan Sanyaolu, made the unveiling at ANAMMCO pavilion at the 36th Enugu International Trade Fair.

Sanyaolu highlighted the key features of the new vehicle that was offered in only 4×4 drive, and have both manual and automatic transmission versions.

He said that the Matador Pickup is a all-terrain vehicle designed to effortlessly navigate Nigeria’s  on-road and off-road terrains, adding that “it is built with Nigeria in mind as the vehicle boasts a perfect balance of high performance and safety.”

Sanyaolu noted that ANAMMCO’s participation in the trade fair is aimed at showcasing the Matador Pickup to the Nigerian Automobile market.

According to him, key features of the Matador Pickup included: advanced technology, optimum performance, superb fuel efficiency, spacious double cabin, multimedia display screen, reverse camera and customised booth cover.

Sanyaolu emphasised the strategic locations of ANAMMCO 3S shops (Sales, Services and Support) in Enugu, Lagos and Abuja, adding that these 3S shops are robustly supported by a wide network of affiliate workshops of GUO Transport and other accredited dealers nationwide.

He said that the unparalleled aftersales services network makes ANAMMCO the preferred choice of commercial vehicles fleet operators.

On road infrastructure and policy, Sanyaolu expressed optimism about the future of the production and assembly of commercial vehicles business in Nigeria, citing the country’s major reliance on road transport for the movement of passengers, goods and services.

“ANAMMCO continues to offer a wide range of services in the automotive industry of Nigerian economy.

“These services included: vehicle production, Third Party Assembly Contracts, commercial vehicles sales, spare parts sales, vehicles refurbishments, workshop and field services, vehicles body building, training and consulting.

“These services guarantee market-leading uptime and lowest operational costs,” he added.

Corroborating, the Director, Corporate Services of ANAMMCO, Mr Uche Okeke, commended Gov. Peter Mbah of Enugu State for his innovative, practical and people-oriented governance.

Okeke said, “I will not miss the opportunity of appreciating the commitment of His Excellency, Dr Peter Mbah, to the job and wealth creation through strategic engagement of the private sector.

“ANAMMCO is one the major beneficiaries of his Excellency’s patronage domestication. His steadfast stance on if it can be done in Enugu, why take it elsewhere, is uncommon in Nigeria.

“The refurbishment and re-engineering of the Coal City shuttle buses project is a classic case of His Excellency’s masterclass in maximum utilisation of available resources for cost effectiveness.

“The project is creating both direct and indirect employments, providing skills development for youths and  is attracting investment to the state.

“His leadership inspired us to boldly showcase the ANAMMCO brand as proudly Nigerian and a star of Enugu State. ANAMMCO is an indigenous brand not only in the name but also local production capacity.”

He noted that the sustained support of the government would bring to fruition in the near future a wholesome technology transfer and development in the Nigerian automotive sector.

Further speaking on their presence in the trade fair, Okeke said, “Enugu is the home of ANAMMCO and we always take the pleasure to identify with anything Enugu.”

Okeke said, “This trade fair is special to us because it is the first time  ANAMMCO is coming with its own brand, which wasn’t the case in previous years.

“The Madator Pickup is the first of others to follow from the ANAMMCO Motors products localisation mandate. It represents high performance with trusted sturdy build of Dongfeng Automobile and powered by world-class engine technology of Mitsbushi engines.

“We are here to showcase the Matador Pickup to the State, Citizens and Residents, the Business community, Security agencies – the Military and para-military,

The response to the new vehicle has been exciting, with a significant increase in exhibitors, existing customers and prospective customers trouping to ANAMMCO pavilion to check out the Matador Pickup.
