Governor Peter Mbah, has approved the release of N290.8 million for the payment of gratuities and pensions of 37 workers, who retired in the month of February 2025 from the services of the Enugu State Government.
According to the state government, the payment of the gratuities and related pension entitlements would help to improve the living standard of the senior citizens, raise their purchasing power, and promote strong and sustainable economic growth in the state.
“It will also help to build workers’ faith in the system, knowing that they will get their benefits to live a decent life after service,” the government said.
The state government had earlier settled the gratuities and related pensions of workers, who retired in January 2025.
The government says it is also carrying out a verification of civil servants, who retired from 2010 to 2024, with a view to commencing clearing of the backlogs of their gratuities and any outstanding.
