Ben Ezechime, Enugu
Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has hailed the former governor of old Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo, for his selfless service to the people, of the state and Nigeria in general.
Mbah said this at a party held to mark the 85th birthday of the elder statesman.
The governor said it was difficult to find words that can rightly capture the true essence of what Nwobodo represents.
Mbah said that the life of Senator Nwobodo was a living proof that the true value of existence is selfless service, adding that nothing endears one to his people than such dispositions which he epitomized.
Speaking, Nwobodo commended the governor for his giant strides in every facet of development and advocated peaceful coexistence amongst the people of the state.
Nwobodo became the governor of old Anambra State comprising the the present three stares of Anambra, Enugu and parts of Ebonyi states, in 1979 at a relatively young age of 39.
