The Police Command in Enugu State says it has arrested a 24-year-old native doctor, Mr Ejike Chinonso and recovered two firearms and ammunition.
SP Daniel Ndukwe, the command’s spokesperson said that the native doctor also confessed to being a member of the Black Axe confraternity.
Ndukwe said that the operation was carried out by operatives on May 15, 2025, at the suspect’s shrine in Ugwuochie-Iwollo, Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State.
According to him, exhibits recovered from the suspect include one locally made pistol, one revolver pistol, one expended 38 special calibre ammunition, one live 38 special calibre ammunition and one live cartridge.
The police spokesperson added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa had commended the operatives for their efforts and urged them to sustain the momentum to make Enugu State uninhabitable for criminals.
“He also called on the public to remain supportive of the Command’s efforts,” Ndukwe stated .
