Former Senate President and Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT), of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Adolphus Wabara, has, praised Governors elected on the platform of the party, over what he called their “impressive mid-term scorecard reports.”
Senator Wabara in a statement, Friday, expressed satisfaction over the achievements posted by the PDP Governors in their respective states.
He said they had demonstrated “capacity, competence, and inclusivity – key values that have always distinguished PDP from other parties.”
The BoT Chairman said he was happy with the scorecards of the Governors as reported by the media and attested to by the people.
The former Senate President who cited what he described as “the superlative scorecard” posted by Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State, said many PDP-controlled states “are alive and thriving despite the harsh economic climate occasioned by the bad policies of the All Progressives Congress, APC-led Federal Government.”
He particularly praised Governor Mbah “for raising the bar so high in key sectors of the economy such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, industry, high-tech, agriculture among others.”
Wabara said that Mbah’s “visionary leadership, lofty dreams and approach to governance,” had launched Enugu into “a leading economy in the South-East, and a model of excellence in the country.”
The PDP BoT Chairman noted that Gov. Mbah’s “mid-term landmark achievements which are openly acknowledged even by his opponents, are clear indications that Nigeria’s hope lies with the PDP.”
Senator Wabara who commended the Enugu State Governor for his uncommon developmental strides, urged him to sustain the tempo in the remaining half of his administration.
The former Senate President who also said he was so impressed by the “identifiable achievements of other PDP Governors which cannot be controverted,” commended them for not disappointing the electorate.
Senator Wabara further commended the achievements of the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, who he said, “is evidence of performance.”
He eulogised him for his imprints in key sectors of the state economy especially infrastructure, agriculture and human capital development.”
Similarly, Wabara praised the Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, who he said had also posted impressive performance despite the menace of insecurity plaguing the state.
The PDP BoT Chairman also noted with delight the performances of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State who he described as “an ambassador of good governance;” his Adamawa State counterpart, Ahmadu Fintiri, who he also said had “well delivered despite security challenges” in the state.
Wabara also commended the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, who he described as “a hero of democracy,” saying that despite political persecutions, Fubara was able to write his name in gold especially in infrastructure and welfare of workers.
The former Senate President also lauded the achievements of Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State who he said his works would speak for in the forthcoming Osun election.
He said he was excited by the overall performance of all PDP Governors, urging them not to lower the bar especially as the country heads for another election.
He said: “I’m very proud of the impressive reports of the mid-term scorecard of our various Governors. They have rekindled the hope of the people by performing creditably despite the miserable state of our economy due to the ill-advised policies of the APC-led Federal Government.
“This is a testament that with PDP in charge, Nigeria will be great again. All hope is not lost.”
Senator Wabara urged Nigerians to “support the PDP as we reposition to take over power at the centre in 2027 and re-set the country.”
The PDP BoT Chairman who said efforts were being intensified by elders of the party to resolve the lingering leadership crisis in the party, predicted brighter future for the PDP.
Senator Wabara urged members still contemplating of dumping the party to perish the thought, declaring that “PDP is already on the path of recovery.”
He also thanked the Governors for helping to rebuild the party, and urged them to sustain the tempo.
