A 60 years old woman, Awoke Rose, has been clobbered to death by her neighbour in Ebonyi State.
The incident happened in Egugho, Ezzagu in Ishielu Local Government Area of the state.
Sources in the community said the woman was attacked and killed by her neighbour, one Ezeoke Chidera.
It was learnt that the incident happened on Monday, 2nd June 2025.
Details of the incident were sketchy at press time but a source in the community said Chidera attacked the victim with a shovel, hitting her multiple times.
It was further learnt that the suspect was later arrested by the Police.
Spokesperson of the Police in the state, Joshua Ukandu confirmed the incident.
He said the command has comemnced investigation into the incident.
“On 02/06/2025 at about 0600hrs, we received a report that one Ezeoke Chidera who lives in the same compound with Mrs Awike Rose F aged about 60 years at Egugho Ezzagu in Ishielu LGA, attacked the said Mrs Awoke Rose hitting her several times with a shovel and abandoned her in a pool of her blood.
“Officers of the command were able to apprehend the suspect.
“The command is currently investigating to understand the motive of the brazen attack,” he said.
