In what looks like a bolt from the blue, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has stepped down from his position, with immediate effect.
Dr Ganduje, the immediate past Governor of Kano State, said he resigned on health grounds to focus on his well-being.
Ganduje has been enmeshed in several political controversies with the latest being the riotous North-East stakeholders meeting of the APC recently in Gombe, which ended in fiasco over the non-announcement of the endorsement of the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, as President Tinubu’s running mate in 2027.
Meanwhile there’s no official response from the APC for now on Ganduje’s resignation.
