Obi, who shared his reflections on the event via his official X handle on Friday, described the occasion as “a continuation of the global celebration” of Adichie’s literary journey. He recalled attending the international launch of the book on March 2nd at London’s Southbank Centre, where over 3,000 guests gathered to honour the award-winning writer.

“Chimamanda remains an exemplary model for every Nigerian—old and young,” Obi said.
“It was inspiring to see how she not only told her story but elevated others, bringing fellow Nigerian writers to the forefront.”
The event featured stirring spoken word performances by celebrated poet, Dike Chukwumerije, and other Nigerian talents, highlighting the country’s vibrant literary scene. The former Anambra State Governor praised Adichie’s commitment to promoting homegrown voices, noting that she “uses her platform to lift other Nigerian writers, encouraging them to soar alongside her on stage, and not just behind the scenes.”
