Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Nigeria’s immediate past President, Muhammadu Buhari.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Governor Otti described the former President’s passing as a great loss to the nation.
“The Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, received with sadness the news of the passing of the immediate past President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Alhaji Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR,” the statement read.
Otti extended his condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Federal Government, and the family of the late President.
“Governor Otti sends his heartfelt condolences to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the Federal Government of Nigeria, and the family of the deceased former President,” the statement continued.
The Governor also urged Buhari’s family and loved ones to take solace in the legacy he left behind, while praying for the peaceful repose of his soul.
“On behalf of his family and the good people of Abia State, Governor Otti enjoins the former President’s family and loved ones to bear the loss with fortitude and prays that God grants his soul eternal rest,” it added.
