President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended heartfelt condolences to the President of Ghana, John Mahama, and the people of Ghana, following a tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of several top government officials.
In a statement released on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu expressed deep sorrow over the deaths of Ghana’s Defence Minister Edward Omane Boamah, Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, and six others who perished in the crash.
“The thoughts and prayers of the government and people of Nigeria are with the government and people of Ghana during this time of profound national loss,” the statement read.
President Tinubu urged the Ghanaian nation, as well as the bereaved families and friends of the victims, to take solace in the fact that their loved ones died in the line of patriotic service to their country.
He also prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the departed and for strength and comfort for those left behind to mourn.
