Traditional Rulers in Abia State, have expressed their support for the decision of Gov. Alex Otti to secure $125 million from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), for the Abia State Integrated Infrastructure Development Project.
The Chairman Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Linus Nto Mbah (LINTO), said the facility would fast-track development in the state.
Ikengaonline had reported the the Federal Executive Council, FEC, chaired by President Ahmed Tinubu, had last week, given approval for the loan.
Commenting on the loan, Eze Mbah said the facility would support the construction of approximately 126 kilometres of road network in Aba and 35.57 kilometres in Umuahia, as well as critical erosion control works in the state.
He expressed the hope that the infrastructural development projects of the Governor would reduce travel time in Abia roads; create jobs for the people, arrest erosion menace among others.
Eze Mbah commended Governor Alex Otti for his achievements so far and said that his administration has earned the trust of leading international development institutions because of its transparency in governance.
He added that, the Governor’s commitment has not only restored public confidence but has also drawn the attention of multilateral and bilateral partners eager to support the transformation agenda of his administration.
The monarch thanked President Tinubu for approving the loan.
