Former Governor of Abia State and Senator representing Abia North, Orji Uzor Kalu, has declared that no alliance among former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, and Labour Party’s Peter Obi can stop President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
Kalu, who spoke on Channels Television’s Politics Today, boasted that President Tinubu’s performance in managing Nigeria’s economy and governance would secure him a second term.
According to the lawmaker, who served as Governor of Abia State when Tinubu governed Lagos in 1999, the President’s achievements and political networks give him a clear edge over any potential challenger.
“None of these people parading can defeat President Tinubu,” Kalu said.
“We know ourselves. All of us know ourselves. What are they going to offer Nigerians that we are not offering?”
When asked specifically if he was referring to Atiku, Jonathan, and Obi, Kalu replied: “Whatever you call them, none of them can defeat Tinubu.”
Kalu also advised former President Jonathan against contemplating another run for the presidency, insisting that the constitution disqualifies him.
“If I’m President Jonathan, I will not think of running for election because, first of all, he is constitutionally banned by law — nobody can do more than eight years. If I’m Goodluck Jonathan, I will just be the statesman that I am,” he stated.
