The Chairman of Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State, Chief Aka Eze-Aka, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, community participation, and equitable distribution of development projects across all communities.
Aka Eze-Aka, an ace broadcaster and former Commissioner for Information in Enugu State, stated this during a working visit to Obollo Eke Autonomous Community, comprising Ugbabe Uwani and Ogwu villages in the old Obollo Eke.
During the visit, the chairman paid a courtesy call on the palace of HRH Igwe Simon Omego, the Igwe Ohazurume I of Obollo Eke Autonomous Community, where he was warmly received by the royal father, members of the council of chiefs, the women leader, and the youth leader.
He explained that the visit was part of his broader engagement with traditional institutions across Udenu Local Government Area aimed at fostering collaboration, peace, and sustainable grassroots development.
Addressing community members and supporters, the chairman said he was in the community to interact with them and identify their priority needs. He also expressed appreciation to Igwe Simon Omego for his visionary leadership and support toward the progress of Udenu Local Government Area.
Aka Eze-Aka noted that traditional institutions remain “vital partners in promoting unity, resolving conflicts, and driving meaningful development at the grassroots level.”
In separate interactions with newsmen, some members of the community commended the chairman for his efforts to open up rural communities in the local government.
A community member, Mr. Simon Ugwu, lauded the chairman for his people-oriented leadership, saying:
“Local government is closer to the people at the grassroots, and community engagement is the key to good governance at that level.”
