FirstPower Electricity Distribution Limited (FPEDL) has announced a planned power outage in parts of Anambra State on Sunday, December 7, 2025, between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
In a statement issued by its management, the company said the outage will enable the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to install its TR13 60MVA transformer and reconfigure outgoing feeders at the Onitsha Transmission Station.
FPEDL listed the affected areas to include Army Barracks, Awada, Obosi, Umunya, Juddy Bolema, Nnewi Oba, Nnewi Industrial, Ossomala, 3-3, Niccus, and Ogidi, as well as the Nwaziki and Woliwo 11KV feeders.
The company apologised for the inconvenience the outage may cause, noting that the exercise is intended to enhance service reliability.
The statement read in part: “The FirstPower Electricity Distribution Limited (FPEDL) wishes to inform her esteemed customers that there will be a planned power outage on Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
“This is to enable the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) crew to bring in its TR13 60MVA transformer and reconfigure the outgoing feeders at the Onitsha Transmission Station.
“To achieve this, the MOBITRA 40MVA and 45MVA transformers, as well as the 1T1 100MVA 132/33KV transformer, will be opened to create a safe working space for the crew.
“Consequently, the following 33KV feeders will be affected: Army Barracks, Awada, Obosi, Umunya, Juddy Bolema, Nnewi Oba, Nnewi Industrial, Ossomala, 3-3, Niccus, and Ogidi; including the Nwaziki 11KV and Woliwo 11KV feeders.
“All customers served by these feeders will be without electricity supply during the period of the exercise.
“We sincerely regret the inconvenience this may cause and count on the understanding of our esteemed customers as the exercise is aimed at improving service reliability.
“FPEDL remains committed to providing satisfactory services.”
