The hemorrhage in the main opposition party appears to have continued as Kola Ologbondiyan, former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has formally announced his resignation from the party.
In a letter dated December 5, 2025 and addressed to the Chairman of his Okekoko Ward (09) in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Ologbondiyan said he reached the decision after a personal review of his continued participation in the party.
“Let me start by thanking you as well as other levels of leadership in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the opportunities provided for me to serve the party as well as our fatherland, Nigeria,” he wrote.
He stated that after careful consideration, it had become necessary for him to “make my exit” from the PDP.
“I have therefore come to a decision to formally withdraw my membership of the PDP, henceforth,” Ologbondiyan added.
Ologbondiyan, who served as the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary from 2017 to 2021, played a prominent role in the party’s communication and media engagements during his tenure.
Although he did not disclose his next political move, Ologbondiyan may join the newly formed African Democratic Congress (ADC), where many of his political allies have moved to.
