The Enugu State Police Command has arrested six alleged members of a secret cult group and recovered firearms and other items used for criminal activities in the state.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Daniel Ndukwe, disclosed this in a statement, saying the suspects were arrested by operatives of the Anti-Cultism Tactical Squad following credible intelligence.
According to Ndukwe, the suspects were apprehended for allegedly forcefully initiating victims into the Supreme Vikings Confraternity.
He said the arrests followed an operation carried out on December 5, 2025, during which the police uncovered a cult initiation site at a forest in Ugwu Peak, Iva Valley, Enugu North Local Government Area. The initiation reportedly took place on November 25, 2025.
Items recovered from the suspects include one locally made double-barrelled pistol, four cutlasses, and two empty bottles of Squadron rum allegedly used during the initiation.
The suspects were identified as Edeh Francis Chigbo, alias “Saint” (22); Ogbu Fabulous, alias “Nwakanwa” (23); Odom Chiemerie, alias “Coded” (28); Nweke Anayo, alias “Chaplet” (22); Obumneme Obiechina, alias “Biggy” (30); and Chigozie Ugbene, alias “God Bless” (20).
Ndukwe said the suspects confessed to being members of the cult group and to their involvement in the alleged criminal acts. He added that they would be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
