Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has predicted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will lose the 2027 presidential election, insisting that Nigerians are increasingly dissatisfied and ready for political change.
Speaking during an interview on Politics Today aired by Channels Television, the Abia South lawmaker dismissed claims that President Tinubu has never lost an election, arguing that no politician is invincible.
“I do not think so. Everybody loses elections, and you will see when the time comes,” Abaribe said.
“He will lose in 2027 because I know what Nigerians are feeling outside.”
The senator went further to question the legitimacy of Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 presidential election, claiming that the outcome did not reflect the will of the electorate.
“Tinubu never won the 2023 election, and everybody knows it,” he said, without providing further details.
Abaribe, a former Minority Leader of the Senate and a prominent opposition figure, said Nigerians were now more determined to challenge the ruling party at the polls.
“This time, people are ready. We are ready. The masses are even more ready. It will no longer be an announcement by 3:am before people will wake up…,” he declared.
He also expressed confidence that any attempt by the President to secure re-election would fail, insisting that the political environment had changed significantly.
“We are going to meet him in the field, and we will see how he will couple together that thing that will make him win again. It won’t work,” Abaribe said.
