The Defence Headquarters (DHQ), on Monday, released the names and states of origin of all 16 military officers and soldiers indicted over an alleged coup plot to overthrow President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
This follows the conclusion of investigations into the affected military personnel over a botched coup attempt against Tinubu in late 2025.
The Director of Defence Information, Major General Samaila Uba, disclosed this in Abuja, stating that the 16 personnel have cases to answer.
According to military authorities, the affected personnel will now face a military court-martial in line with established procedures and extant regulations.
Major Gen. Uba said the investigation examined the circumstances surrounding the conduct of the officers and identified actions that were “inconsistent with the ethics, values, and professional standards expected of members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.”
